Get Involved with Google+

If you haven’t got yourself involved with Google+ yet, now’s the time to do so. It can give you the boost you need whilst appealing to a whole other audience, and despite the fact it’s taken a while to make an impact in the SEO arena it’s become a slow burning success. In fact, Google are even claiming to have somewhere in the region of 75million active users, so isn’t it time you got on board?

There are plenty of reasons to give this social networking site a go, the first of which being that Google+ pages often (and unsurprisingly) rank very well in their search results. Your business page will quickly be able to get a decent listing to give your profile a boost, and the ranking of your regular website could even be enhanced thanks to this additional page. Then you just need to consider the reach of Google+ – all of your posts, comments and updates are publically viewable by anyone searching on the site itself as well as anyone performing a traditional Google search, maximising your audience beyond comparison.

Google Local is also worth a huge mention here. If you include your address/location details in your Google+ page it’ll appear in local search listings, instantly giving you a local presence and potentially directing huge numbers of relevant traffic your way. Then there’s the chance to interact with your customers in a professional yet personable way, and by segmenting your audience through the use of Circles you’ll be able to (for example) target posts to specific demographics. It’s a great opportunity for SEO and for marketing as a whole, and can easily give your profile the boost it needs.

Yes, it’s another social networking site and yes, it could take time to see results, but do it well and the effort will always be worth it. If you start getting involved you’ll be boosting your SEO profile and could soon see the results, so what are you waiting for? Get plus 1-ing and you never know where it could lead…
