Create relationships, create links
Posted by admin on June, 27th 2012Having a solid link building strategy should be a key part of any SEO campaign, but don’t think you have to go for convoluted ways of getting those must-have links. Sometimes it’s the simplest techniques that are the most beneficial, so it’s time to go back to basics and focus on creating relationships in the online world.

Building relationships will always be central to building backlinks, so it’s high time you got your chat-up technique sorted (so to speak). It’s all about thanking and promoting others that are linking back to you, so always be on the lookout for where those links are coming from—if you’ve found the site on which you’re mentioned you could thank the webmaster, comment on the article, tweet the post to share with your other followers… bringing people to sites that mention you can be a great source of traffic by default, and it could even lead to more backlinks for maximum benefit.
You always need to remember the importance of staying social. If someone’s mentioned you in a tweet (for example) then always spend the time to thank them for it and try to return the favour in some way, because if you develop a great circle of sociable followers it could easily work out well in the long run. Make sure to share other people’s content and talk about them in your own posts—it’s paying it forwards as much as flattery—and you could soon notice your traffic (and number of incoming links) soar.
Reach out to people in the online arena and you never know where it could take you. You could be the subject of guest posts, social signals and numerous backlinks, so always remember the importance of building relationships and you could build your link building strategy in the process.
