Blog Commenting Guide
Posted by admin on May, 24th 2010
Commenting on other people’s blogs is a great way to promote your site; you get another valuable backlink to your website and even perhaps more traffic too.
Commenting on a blog in the same niche as your website make the backlinks even more powerful – anyone doing SEO should consider doing this if the blog has DoFollow links or not. Having a wide range of IP addresses linking to your website will enhance your off-site search engine optimisation; any top site will have thousands of other websites linking to them.
How can you make sure your blog comments are approved?
If you run a blog then you probably are inundated with spam comments like these examples:
- “This blog is my favorite – I will come back and see your posts every week”
- “Thanks for the great post!”
- “The subject matter in this blog has been enlightening, many thanks”
Also you’ll have lots of comments aiming at products or porn too, when will the spammers quit!?
To get your comment approved you need these things:
- Respond to the post itself. If your comment doesn’t mention the post-matter then it’s far more likely to look like another spam comment, read the post and comment on it’s content.
- Check your spelling & grammar. Any spelling mistakes throw up doubts about whether you’re general or not, grammar errors are especially bad, a lot of blog spammers have bad grammar skills.
- Be positive. Nobody likes negative comments unless the post itself is a negative comment. If you say something bad about the blogger then don’t expect them to approve your comment!
- Add worth to the post. Join in the conversation and make an interesting point about the post’s subject. Asking a question can be effective too as it can spark up a conversation on the blog post.
- Add smiles. Strangely enough adding in a emoticon of a smile after the comment seems to raise approval rates like this one here ->
Good luck and remember to comment on recent blogs posts that are in your own niche. Comments can take upto 2 weeks to get approved so record down all the post URL’s and check back then to see which succeeded.

Posted by Water Coolers Rotherham on 23 Jun 2011I am surprised the post about blog commenting (and I must admit even though it’s short, it is well-written) has no comments for itself.
So, I’ve decided to leave mine even though I rarely do it, I prefer reading than writing.
But I just couldn’t resist here.
To add value as you suggest, I’d add that as a general rule, commenting with what you actually feel about the raised subject in the blog post, is what will make it real and non-spammy. Express what you feel, and be heard.
Kindest regards,

You should add some examples of blog commenting so that it will help readers to understand this topic clearly. I have still doubt on blog commenting.
