Google Caffeine – Recent Blog Posts

google caffeineGoogle Caffeine can be used for a great little SEO tool.  The new ‘real-time’ indexing service that will be rolled out fully by Google in the up-coming months uses “pings” from blogs, news sites and social networks such as Twitter and Facebook to create a live search.  This is especially useful for any breaking news, gossip or discussions over debated issues.

So how can Google caffeine help you out with SEO?

One area of SEO is blog commenting where you add a useful comment to someone’s blog post and link back to your main website.  This is a great way to get backlinks to your site and you can also join in discussions, make friends/partners and have extra traffic to your site  (remember there are many other traffic sources apart from Google search!).

The image on the right shows the options to check to get the latest blog posts on your chosen niche.  If you target blog posts that have been made in the last day or week then they are far more likely to get a response from the blog admin.  Many blogs such as WordPress ones need an administrator to approve blog comments; if you aim for blog posts that are years old then don’t expect to see many good results!

If you are doing SEO for a specific brand then Google Caffeine can be used to see the latest news about your brand; another good tool for this is SocialMention.com which scans social networks in real time.  If there is a negative response to your brand, for example a customer has a bad experience then you can quickly act to rectify the situation with these real-time tools!
